Sally Shapiro – Looking At The Stars

Sally Shapiro has entered my music radar yet again. I can’t remember how I stumbled upon this track, but it’s a different experience this time around. My first and last encounters were with “Disco Romance” and “Remix Romance Vol. 1″. I fell in love with “Find My Soul”, remixed by Holy Fuck on the “Remix Romance Vol. 1″ album. I went back to listen to the original mix on “Disco Romance” and it simply did not work for me. However, when I found “Looking At The Stars” off “My Guilty Pleasure” and proceeded to listen to the FM Attack remix off “My Guilty Pleasure Remixes”, I fell back to the original.

Absolutely love it.

Home away from home..

Desk on a typical day..

AWESOME.

Nothing better than Niko, QNC, AND AIM.

Fucking awesome.

I Gave In.

So I ended up giving into the whole tablet thing. I wasn’t going to bother, but the small form factor and the awesome price I got it for sold me.

I have been using it a bit around the apartment and mostly at work for music. It has a few bugs, but nothing I can’t work around!

Totally.

Awesome music for late afternoon programming.

Alpha – Slim

Absolutely love this damn song. May sound bland at the beginning, but the ending is phenomenal.

In researching who the hell is behind that beautiful voice, it is some singer named Helen White. In learning more about her, I discovered Statik Sound System.

Soooo good.

Audio-Technica AT-714′s

Found a killer deal on eBay for a pair of mint 1970′s Audio-Technica AT-714′s.

Breaking them in as I write..

Creepy.

The original title of this post was “Better Than Nothing” to describe how I really wished I could find Blue States’ “Man Mountain” on vinyl, but settled for a remix album of “Season Song” (by Blue States on the “28 Days Later” OST). Then I discovered Discogs, and now I am on my way to being fully broke.

Anyways, I was browsing along on eBay last week and spotted a remix album for “Season Song” and immediately snatched it. I absolutely love that song and was intrigued at the idea of a remix. Rui Da Silva did a fantastic job remixing this son while keeping true to the feeling of the movie (creepy, eerie, etc).

This one will live on my record player until “Man Mountain” gets here.

New Poster!

I think this poster fits a bit more above my speakers and my amplifier =)

Now for something completely different.

Bob Hoskins + The Mob + Pierce Bronsan’s first film role = The Long Good Friday
